Youths aiming to dent Kildare’s survival hopes

Wexford Youths travel to Station Road on Friday night to take on Kildare County. Both sides have contrasting ambitions coming into the last couple of games as Kildare aim to survive. While Wexford are battling it out with Monaghan for the coveted 5th position.

Wexford manager Mick Wallace as no new injury worries after last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Finn Harps. Wallace does have some suspensions to deal with as Gareth McCurtin and Conor Sinnott are ruled out of the trip to Kildare.

Kildare are rooted at the bottom of the table on 15 points. While their nearest challengers for survival, Mervue United are 7 points ahead of them, but the Thoroughbreds have a game in hand. Wexford on the other hand are level on points with Monaghan, so this really is a must win for both sides.

“This is going to be a really tough game for us. Kildare are a very good side and they showed that when they beat us at Ferrycarrig earlier in the season. Their League position doesn’t do them justice and we always find it difficult up in their place, so it’s going to be a good game” said Wallace.

Out for season:
David Miller

Suspended:
Conor Sinnott
Gareth McCurtin
